Costs

All of our courses are funded by either the Education and Skills Funding Agency, the Department for Education, or the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. The Government expects public funding to be focused on people who need it most and to comply with this, we collect fees from people who can afford to pay and use these to extend provision to those who cannot.

Fees and Charges

Course fees are set by individual providers and will be included in course information. Learners will be exempt from fees if they are unemployed and in receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit (work related)
  • Job Seekers Allowance
  • Employment Support Allowance
  • Income Support

Other learners may also be exempt from fees at the discretion of the provider. If you think your personal circumstances may make you eligible for fee exemption; please contact the Adult Education Team Email adulteducation@wokingham.gov.uk, phone 07785 314603 or speak to the provider directly.

To meet the Government’s Skills Agenda, all English, (excluding ESOL), Maths and Essential Digital courses are free.
