The Red Kite Children's Centre

Please note: The Red Kite Children's Centre will be closed for all sessions from Monday 30th July to Monday 6th August

The Red Kite Children’s Centre is located on the St Mary’s Junior School Site in Shinfield

Services have been developed to meet the needs of the local community and include the full range of health, education and parenting support.

Please see our timetable for more information (timetable can be found on the right hand side of your screen)

Activities include painting, drawing, play dough, home corner, sand tray, story time and songs.

Sessions include:

  • Play and Learn for 0-4s
  • Baby Sensory Sessions
  • Child Health Clinic
  • Two Year Health Review -  Health Visitor Led
  • Professional Homecarers Session
  • Employment Service
  • Parent and Family Groups
  • Speech and Language Drop In (Please call ahead to check clinic is running)
  • Support for additional needs
  • Baby massage

Speech and Language

This is a drop in session for any parent /carer who may have concerns about their child’s speech and language development. It is a chance for a parent t have an informal discussion with a Speech and Language therapist who may give advice and support or who may decide a referral to the S&L service is necessary, with your consent.

 Sessions may vary during school holidays. Please check with the Centre.

Parking is available in the local residential area only.

We request that all parents and carers attending the Centres park considerately and not block driveways or cause an obstruction to residents. Please ensure you are not parking in residential allocated parking spaces or blocking the garages.

Out of area residents: Wokingham Borough Council Sure Start Children's Centres are for Wokingham Borough families only.   If you live outside of the area, please visit your local centre who will be very happy to assisst.
