Autism Berkshire: advice and information service for parents and carers

Autism Berkshire logo

Autism Berkshire was set up in 1990 by parents of children with autism, autism-related problems and challenging behaviours.

We now have more than 300 members, including individuals, families and professionals.

The main aims of the charity are to provide a comprehensive advice and information service for parents, carers and professionals.

You can call our helpline from Monday to Friday (except bank holidays) on 01189 594 594 (select option 1) or email our advisers at contact@autismberkshire.org.uk - we aim to respond within 24 hours.

We support parents and carers of children on the autism spectrum or who are waiting for a Berkshire CAMHS autism assessment, running workshops and courses about aspects of autism and supporting autistic children and young people, including sensory needs and managing behaviour - available in Wokingham, Reading and West Berkshire. Through the Berkshire Adult Autism Support Service, we also assist autistic adults and their parents/carers.

Autism Berkshire also provides training to parents, carers and professionals in a variety of areas to raise awareness of autism and issues associated with autism.

The charity issues the Thames Valley Autism Alert Card and manages the scheme on behalf of the alert card working group.
