Shinfield Rangers FC

Shinfield Rangers Football Club

Shinfield Rangers FC embraces a child’s enthusiasm an passion for football by encouraging & developing to the best of the child’s ability in a safe, friendly & fun environment for boys and girls. We also have Men and Women's teams, minikickers and open sessions for the Over 30s.

We are an FA Charter Standard Community Club, which means we meet the highest standards the FA require. We continually invest in the development of our coaches and players as well as contributing to the local community in several ways.

In 2019 we won FA Club of the Year from Berks & Bucks FA and also BBFA Project of the year for our Bobicats Disability Football sessions for 5 to 8 Year olds (now 5-12) at the Ryeish Green Sports Hub. We were runners up in similar awards, for sports and activities clubs, with Get Berkshire Active in 2020. We have several girl's teams and are always keen to encourage girls to participate in football.

Shinfield Rangers is one of the few clubs that was officially partnered with Reading Football Club as well as being a Nike Partner Club. We are members of Get Berkshire Active, ClubMark, Club Matters, This Girl Can, Join In, Active Sport

Our ethos is that everyone who wants to play gets to play, which has given us an excellent track record in building the confidence of children as well as their skills and social awareness. For that reason we have been supporting BBFA in their various Pride projects.

Funding Notes

Funding relies mostly on fees as we are a not for profit organisation run by volunteers, so costs are kept to a minimum.  However, we run free annual sessions in the summer term for girls using a short-lived bursary from the FA. We run the disability sessions for free on a mixture of funding sources and we have a hardship fund for those most in need though evidence will be needed.

Local Offer

Local Offer - Support available for children and young people with additional needs

Description

We run weekly FA "Bobicats" sessions for children with most SEN/disabilities outdoors for free over the summer and autumn terms, and monthly indoors sessions over winter. We would struggle with wheelchairs and children with category B1 blindness due to the lack of appropriate facilities. But we welcome everyone else.

We are ambasadors for the Berks&Bucks FA whom we support to help and encourage other clubs to establish their own Bobicats sessions
