Special Educational Needs (SEN) Service

Following guidance from the Government with regard to the coronavirus (COVID-19), before attending an activity, group, drop in, course or event listed on our directory please contact the organisation who is running the service to ensure it is still taking place.

The Special Educational Needs (SEN) Service undertakes the Education Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment for children and young people between the ages of 0 - 25 years. It arranges the provision required to meet the needs identified on an EHC plan and organises the appropriate reviews of a child’s progress.

Within the SEN team the case officers will be the main point of contact for parents.

They hold the case and undertake the administrative duties to ensure that the assessment takes place in a timely fashion and within statutory timescales.

The EHC Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the assessment itself. This means that they will liaise with parents, young people and professionals, and conduct the EHC meeting that draws up the plan.
