ASD Family Help - Teen Club

ASD Family Help logo

MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE.

A monthly TEEN Club for young people aged 12 to 18 years with special educational needs such as aspergers, autism, dyslexia, anxiety, OCDADHD and learning difficulties etc. No diagnosis is required. Siblings may also be able to attend (please ask us about spaces).

Session runs from 4.45pm to 6.15pm usually on the 4th Wednesday of the month.

Children must be able to access this activity on an adult to child ratio of 1:8. (We are unable to provide one to one support).

The aim of the club is to encourage socialising and making friends, plus getting out of the house for a few hours!

We have hired Wokingham Baptist Church which provides us with plenty of room, including a quiet area for teens to chill and take a break if they need to.

£4.00 per child per session. (Payable half-termly via Bacs)

A small disposable snack and drink will be provided for each individual child. Children may also like to bring their own filled & labelled water bottle.

*Teens will begin to design this club to provide the activities they wish to do! This may sometimes involve going out and about for trips.*

This session is for Teens to attend without parents. We are unable to allow parents into the venue (partly due to Covid requirements and also due to our funding requirements and policies that all adults present will be fully DBS checked by our charity).

All new children/young people need to sign up and meet with a member of the team before your booking can be confirmed. This gives each young person the chance to meet some staff, ask questions and assess whether we are able to meet your child's needs.

All sign up's and meetings are currently taking place online and using Zoom.

No diagnosis required, all welcome

Siblings are welcome to join this event if we have spaces available - the same criteria above applies.

Booking / Registration Required
Yes
Booking and Registration Notes

Booking is absolutely essential.

Please email Rachael@asdfamilyhelp.org for booking enquiries or complete our sign up form and we will be in touch.

We will not book new children onto this activity without them first attending an assessment meeting.  We currently do this online (Teams). This allows the child to meet some staff, ask questions and allow us to assess whether we are able to meet your child's needs.

If your child has not had an assessment meeting to attend Teen Club, we are not able to accept your child onto this event.  This is in the best interests and safety of all children, ensures we can meet every child's needs and makes sure we have enough staff to manage every session.
