Description

Our club is aimed at young people aged 14-25 on the autism spectrum and typically of mainstream ability, we welcome beginners and talented artists.

The young people who attend shape the programme of different art media and crafts activities that we offer.

Each session has the same core activities to provide structure and predictability to include for example:

Colouring from a range of topics - Nature, anime, Marvel characters
Drawing - practising familiar pictures
Paper Craft
Plus a session specific art or craft activity e.g. bead work

We have a variety of experienced staff and support workers at the clubs who are all DBS checked.

Eligibility Criteria

A diagnosis of an autism spectrum condition or social communication disorder following an assessment for autism.

Booking and Registration Notes

We require an application form to be completed in conjunction with parent and young person before they attend so that we can ensure we understand any support needs. It also enables the young person to meet a member of staff before attending for the first time to reduce any possible anxiety.

Places are limited to ensure an autism friendly environment.

Quality Assurance: Our support staff are experienced in autism and supporting young people. They have DBS clearance and abide by The Autism Groups' confidentiality, safeguarding, health and safety and data protection policies. We undertake annual safeguarding training for all our staff and volunteers.
