Thumbs Up Club - Holiday Club for children and young people with special needs

Following guidance from the Government with regard to the coronavirus (COVID-19), before attending an activity, group, drop in, course or event listed on our directory please contact the organisation who is running the service to ensure it is still taking place.

COVID-19 Update

Thumbs Up Easter and Summer holiday club for children from age 3 to 19 years who are unable to access mainstream settings.

Thumbs Up are hopeful to be able to run a small provision at Easter. Unfortunately, due to the limited facilities available and the need to have strict bubbles due to Covid-19, it is highly unlikely that the club will be able to open to all those who would like to attend. The Thumbs up club will need to prioritise children, and for this Easter will be for invited families only.

The Thumbs Up club will contact you directly, as soon as possible if your child is eligible for provision, you will be contacted directly, as soon as possible with venue and dates they are able to offer you – which are non-negotiable due to bubbles. Please – either accept or decline the space, and if accepted you will be invoiced accordingly.

Due to the short time frame to organise club, they will be unable to contact those who are not eligible individually. Therefore, if you do not hear from them by March 23rd, this means your child has not been offered spaces in this limited provision for this Easter.

We also provide a limited Transport Service for families who have no other means of getting their child to Club. We hire a minibus, driver and escort from Readibus specifically for this. Transport is charged at £10 per person per day for a return trip to and from home address only. This is available in the Wokingham and Woodley area predominantly to ensure that no child is on transport for more than an hour or so each way.

We must emphasise places are very limited for the holiday club. We cannot guarantee requested places but a maximum of 40 places per day should be available.
