Terms and conditions of use - registering

By registering with this directory, you agree to these terms and conditions ("Terms").  Please read the Terms carefully as they set out your rights and obligations. They also provide information on how you can submit material (“Content”) and how we will use it. 

IF WE DISCOVER OR HAVE ANY REASON TO SUSPECT YOU HAVE BREACHED THE TERMS WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SUSPEND OR TERMINATE YOUR ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY AND WITHOUT NOTICE. 

1. YOUR PASSWORD, LOGIN AND SECURITY

When you register, you will be asked to enter a valid email address and select a password that you can then use to access your account (“Account”), and log on to secure areas of the directory.

You agree and accept:

A. That it is your sole responsibility to provide a valid email address that you have authorisation to access

B. That it is your sole responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of your password and you are responsible for all activity that occurs under this

C. To make sure you are the only person using your password

D. To notify us of any unauthorised use of your password and any other breach of security as soon as you become aware of it.

2. YOUR CONTENT

Any Content supplied to Wokingham Borough Council to display on the directory will be available for public use.

You agree and confirm that:

A. All Content submitted by you (via online forms, emails, verbal and written communication) is accurate, true and up to date, and if your Content contains opinions, these are your own and genuinely and truly held by you.

B. All Content submitted by you (via online forms, emails, verbal and written communication) may be used on this website in any way required, and supplied to third parties in other formats, such as verbally and in written form. Content may be rejected, edited, moderated, removed or deleted at our absolute discretion.

C. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the Content; Wokingham Borough Council is not responsible for the acuracy of Content or damages that arise from inaccurate Content.

D. Wokingham Borough Council does not include Content on the directories as a recommendation of suitability or quality of service, and Wokingham Borough Council does not endorse Content.

E. All Content is original to you and you are fully entitled (and have all necessary consents) to submit the Content (you must also have the consent of anyone featured in the Content to provide this to us) and you are happy for this to be used as set out in the Terms.

F. Nothing in the Content will infringe the copyright or any other right of any person, breach any contract or duty of confidence, be defamatory, obscene, offensive, indecent, harassing, threatening, breach anyone’s privacy or constitute a contempt of court, or be calculated to bring any person into disrepute.

3. YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Personal information is information supplied on your registration form ("Your Personal Data"). Your Personal Data will be kept private and confidential, and will not be passed to third parties without your express consent and it will be used in accordance with our Privacy Notice(s)

Wokingham Borough Council will use Your Personal Data as follows:

A. To administer your registration and Account.

B. To contact you in relation to your Content and Account.

C. To making decisions about whether Content you submit should be accepted, rejected or used.

4. DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT

You may terminate your Account at any time, for any reason, by contacting us. Even after your Account is terminated (for whatever reason), the Terms will remain in full force and effect and your Content will automatically remain on the website unless you choose 0therwise.  We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your Account or access to any part of the website at any time if you breach the Terms or for technical reasons.

By requesting to delete your Account, you agree that:

A. You will no longer be able to login to the site or manage listings

B. If you have chosen associated listings to be deleted, these listings will no longer be visible to the public and they will be permanently be deleted from the directories.

5.  OTHER

Accepting your listing on the Wokingham Borough Council website shall not be taken as an endorsement of any kind.

If you become aware of any misuse of the Content or wish to complain about any Content on this website or believe any of your rights have been violated, you can notify us via the directory contact details.

The Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England. Any disputes arising from this directory or Terms will be decided only by the English courts.
